On the first day I managed to knock something down right during the take. And it was a good take until then :). Oh, man - it gets crowded on the set!
For me as a photographer shooting stills is a very rewarding experience. I don't get to set things up and rule the action like I do on photo shoots. I have to remember that I'm there only to witness things.
It helps to be very considerate and not get in anybody's way. Everyone is very important on the set, except me. What I'm doing is only going to be required later - when the production is over.
All that creates quite a challenging situation. I'm limited in space, angles, light, setup, people standing around watching the action unfold - director, sound, dp, various assistants - ouch!
And I love challenge! That's the best field to study - nothing will make me better at what I do.
That's why I'm very much looking forward to the next set I'm covering, and the next one, and the next...
