Subtle and not so subtle colors under ground
A little something I brought back from Pennsylvania last weekend - besides chocolate and a bunch of new crystals to add to the collection :)...

How much do I love my new printer?
Epson printer/scanner/fax and what not. I'm actually not hands down for all-in-ones, and just wanted a printer that could print my work on CDs and a decent quality of 4x6s, but this one beat them all with price and quality. So now I have a fax that I'll never use :). Oh well...

Following the heart
See that bridge? It was actually closed for the trespassers.
Over years people have dug the holes underneath the fence to get in and onto the bridge, and also - if you take a little walk in the forest nearby - there's a place where there's no sign and no fence - you can just walk onto it and there's nothing to stop you from taking a peek...
Even if your husband is staying back yelling "I warned you!" You can't stop anymore. One step, another, closer and closer... And then you can't stop clicking that button..

A shot from yesterday's
Today I'm covering the charity event at fashion designer's showroom in Manhattan. Already packed up to go, because I'll have to take off right after my vocal class, just to get there on time. Commute! But this time a pleasure to do so.
Worked on a portfolio last night - the idea was to catch some positive energy and movement..

What's happening lately...
I just realized that all the updates I've been writing here were sitting in saved drafts, unpublished *lol*. Always running around, I don't have a chance to finish many things right away. Before I used to worry about that, and now I see that it's even better this way. Things I do - mature over time - and become even better when I get to finish them.
Flying comes easy these days - instructor began reprimanding me for not being careful enough anymore. I used to be so frightened that all my turns were perfect and all my landings had to be done with a slip or some other technique to lose altitude fast, if not a go-around. Now I'm being asked to keep the altitude ... keep the altitude :).
I guess it's a sign of progress - fear is gone, now I'm looking for my "sweet spot", where technique and joy of flying balance each other.
The Company is turning into an LLC, you'll get the update.
My marketing plan is maturing into something I will soon be able to write about, all in all - I love what it is turning into. I can't wait to be able to share with you guys!
The website is changing slightly, soon will undergo some very serious changes - it's a work in progress. So stay tuned! It will be a lot more interesting.
But the most important update is that I get to enjoy the life I always dreamed of - freedom and time to pursue things I always looked for and developing the skills I always admired in others. These are what my days are full of and I wish the same to you.

PS: oh and the synctxt is fun, but no more, I don't think I'm keeping it :). Well, may be just for another month, to see if there's really any help. Right now I have all 10 alerts and don't think I want to change any. They come quite useful most of the time. As reminders.

Synchronicities?
This morning a friend suggested to check out http://www.synctxt.com/. They offer a 7 days trial to folks who believe in synchronicities (which I do), so I subscribed :).
At first I thought they're going to alert me with their own texts. Upon further research I find out that I need to write my own alerts (up to ten) and they will be sent to me periodically (phone or email).
These alerts are intended to help stay focused, present, or simply serve as useful reminders, or inspiration.
Some examples that people use are as simple as YES, NO, or MAY BE (like a magic 8 ball *lol*), and some remind themselves to focus on projects they're supposed to work on. Others put in inspirational quotes.
All in all, this is a fun tool to me, and I thought I'd share my experiences with it here.
So far I entered these alerts:

2) Where are you going?
3) Visualize it
4) Time to get cracking
5) Get it out there

On networking, Mondays and flying...
I'll start backwards - flying, then Mondays and the rest of it.
Yesterday did my first cross-country flight! Turned out much easier than anticipated. Chart on the lap, straight line between airports, 5 mile markings on it, a bunch of lakes, roads, ridges and power lines led me on my way - yay, I'm glad I can do that!
Landings were great too, except that on the way back I felt so relaxed that I refused to line up with the runway, and the instructor had to remind me of that. :)
After thaaaat... I was invited to the school for a little Mother's Day celebration, where our children made us presents, read us things they like about us, made me cry, served us chocolate dipped strawberries, sandwiches and ice tea.
In the evening I went to meet up with colleagues from NJ Creatives organization and had a lovely time connecting with illustrators Dave, Norm and Christa (fun fun fun, caring people, they can even do caricatures - a word I, apparently, never had to pronounce before), our webmaster Stan - loved his sense of humor, and a very creative out-of-the-box, besides-the-box, in-front-of-the-box thinking Veronica, whose business card will go into my "top-notch" collection - it's a 3D ruler, and I won't be able to describe it unless I show it to you some time later :).
Also met Beverly and Lynn, who I didn't really get to talk to, but... hopefully next month!
Networking became what it is for me - communicating, having fun, building wonderful relationships with people who I might do business with, or even simply learn from. I was warned that when I go freelance I might find myself stuck alone in my home office or have nobody to talk to during the work week, but... it just never happened. I meet exciting people every day, and I refer them to each other, and they refer each other to me.
Just as suspected, there's no marketing strategy good enough for me right now, than plain getting out there and meeting folks, seeing who they are and what they do, getting inspired by their energy and interests.

Friday is probably the best day to go to the city. It's still a workday, and it's not a weekend yet for the most of us, so... Watching everyone at 8am hurrying to their work places makes me feel like I'm on vacation.
I'm visiting my good friends at B&H with hope to get some cleaning done on the Nikon and may be they'll help me with the lensbaby.
Then there should be an exhibit downtown - work by a famous aerial photographer - Yann Arthus Bertran. He's become a huge inspiration to me.
For now I'm sitting in a bistro waiting for the store to open, contemplating a fresh greek omelet.
And guess what? The vocal teacher who I met yesterday is also Greek :).
Coincidences...

Another photographer, who's different
One more thing that added to my recent New Mexico trip was that I got to meet and look at the photographs of Nathan Young. He's taken a lot of very nice photos in Turkmenistan, and now is putting together his website at http://www.Beshirphotography.com
I certainly hope to see more of his work there soon! Very quiet work and yet so strong.
On the fashion note - there's Stella McCartney's fall collection show tomorrow at Barneys - are you coming? She's an awesome designer - I'm going to be there to meet with her and personally enjoy her contribution to the greener world.
