Cool little cardz!

Well here we go... the cards arrived!

I ordered them just a few days ago. A friend pointed to a friend who ordered them, and I thought they are too cool to pass on, heheh

They're called MOO cards *lol*. I'm so into them!

How I started (how you can start) shooting models

Of course I was lucky to have had a team behind my back to keep pushing on and encouraging me to try: "come on! models don't bite!"
I was taking a course in fashion photography with Bruce Smith back then and he was giving us a pretty straighforward homework, but the hardest part for me those days was - yes, don't be surprised - to find a model.

I had no idea there're thousands of gorgeous people out there that can't wait to get in front of my (MY!!!) camera. It took a while to register on model mayhem (further "MM"), since they required me to upload at least 4 photos, based on which I would get approved for the community or not. Much later I found out that I didn't even have to pick my best shots of my best friends, I only had to give them something based on which they'd know that I'm a photographer, but that was later :).

On the first try I thought it went incredibly well. I even fell in love with my new model for a couple of days - she moved so freely and seemed to me that she knew EXACTLY what she was doing and what I was expecting of her! That felt fantastic. I saw myself as this big time shooter, jumping around her, praising her, moving closer in and moving away, and sitting down and jumping up, and changing settings...

Later that week I found out that half the images we created came out blurry on her face and eyes, and that's how I learned to never shoot a person in these conditions with f-stop less than 4-5 :)

After that time there came the second try and the third and then, all of a sudden, I began receiving requests from models to shoot with me. And this part made me feel good. Now I shoot with a model at least once a week. My port is growing, my experience. My interests change and soon, I won't be able to help models grow as much as I do now, but I'll always try when I see a great potential!

And welcome to my new blog. :)
